Abstract
Introduction: Hospital's owners should make wise decisions for
maintaining their performance in desired level and surviving; therefore,
they are needed to evaluate and measure their performance and get
information about their hospitals, but main methods of performance
measuring in hospitals precisely; therefore, researching is needed in
this context. This researching is done to review performance measurement
system in Firoozgar Hospital in 1382.
Research Methodology: The research was done cross sectional. After
searching the subject in books and articled and also internet, the
researcher divided the performance measurement system into two parts:
the requirements performance measurement system, and the characteristics
performance measurement system. In order to measure the aforementioned
factors a questionnaire and a checklist were prepared and distributed
among 38 staff from different wards of hospital. It was done after
determining their validity and reliability. Finally, according to the
collected information, a framework for performance measurement system
was proposed.
Finding: The finding of the research are presented in 21 table.
According to checklist which 40% (28items out of 70) of total items
related to the characteristics and of performance measurement system was
available. According to the questionnaire, communication system whit
score 59(82%) is in the best position and the key processes whit score
43(60%) and payment system whit score 45(62%) have been in the weakest
position.
Conclusion: According to the weakest point of the existing condition of
the performance measurement in the Firoozgar Hospital, there is
recommended a plan that by utilizing it we will help the problem solving
performance measurement system and through providing comprehensive
information about finally, it will lead to improvement in hospital
performance.
